The following exam-type questions are designed as practice for the Edexcel test paper for Unit 1 of the GCSE Double Award in Applied ICT: ICT Knowledge and Understanding.

The maximum marks possible are shown beside each question. There is a maximum of 100 marks for the whole test .

You are given 2.5 hours to complete the entire test which roughly means that you should spend no more than 1.5 minutes on a question (or part of a question) that is worth 1 mark.

When you are ready, start by reading the scenario below; then complete all the cards in this task in order.
Don't forget to time yourself. You will be asked, at the end of the test, to say how long it took you to complete.

Kent Tents Limited is a family run business owned by John and Rita Jones. It has been operating for 15 years. The company manufactures a small range of tents sleeping up to 6 people.

Traditionally, the company has used ICT in a very limited way but, as their son Peter has now joined the business, they are looking to change the way that they work.
