1.09.1 Conclusions - Internal Portfolio: Business Letters
In this task you are going to re-look at letters provided in previous modules, and at those that you have created yourself.

You will examine the following:
  • To what extent does each letter meet its purpose?
  • State who the target audience is in each case. Then explain how each letter is appropriate for its target audience.
  • How could it be improved?

Below are links to all the letters provided by the course. You will need to collect together the documents that you created yourself from your portfolio tasks and upload them to the file card in this task.
Select 3 or 4 letters (depending on which syllabus you are following), including the one you created yourself.

Upload any relevant images and files to the image card and file card in this task.

Remember to save each version of your work with a separate file name. You will get more marks if you can show the process you have gone through to create the finished version.

How about some extra marks?

You will gain more marks if you can demonstrate that you are familiar with a wide range of business letters and have looked at how they vary across different businesses.

If you do decide to look at other letters, think about whether each one fulfils its purpose. Is it appropriate to its target audience? Is it accurate, clear, consistent? Does it make sense? How would you improve it?

Use the model of your internal portfolio tasks to examine each letter that you choose. Then add one new card to this task for each letter you look at. Upload relevant images and files to the image card and the file card and make notes to help you add them into your portfolio later.
