1.05.2 Databases - Drills
You are going to complete a number of drills to gain database skills. You will then build a relational database.
1.05.3 Database - External Portfolio
You are going to create a relational database using the following scenario.

Your local zoo wants to set up a Penguin Adoption Programme where members of the public will be allowed to adopt one of the 10 resident penguins for a period of 1 year.



Your task is to create the database and to produce a monthly report of the adoptions that are going to expire within the next calendar month so that the “parents” can be contacted to see if they wish to renew their adoption.

The managers of the zoo have stressed that the clerical assistant must have accurate details of each of the penguins when they contact the “parents” . Details should include the penguin’s name, height, weight, sex and date of birth.

You can choose to add other information into the database, such as each penguin's favourite fish or a photograph of each penguin.

When your teacher has approved your work, export it and use it to create a database to add to your portfolio.
