These questions are about evaluation of your work and that of others.

You are being asked to say what you thought of the work, what worked, whether it could have been better, how it could have been better etc

By answering in detail you can show that you understand HOW it worked (or not) and WHY it did (or didn't).

You should focus on the following:
  • Use of stage (use stage positions correctly eg downstage right, centre stage etc) Was anyone masked?
  • characterisations (were they believable? Why? How?)
  • Body language, facial expression, attitude, vocal qualities etc
  • The storyline (plot) was it believable? If not, why not?
  • Use of techniques (flashback, split stage, direct address, narration, etc etc)

Evaluation of links

You were asked to create sequences of work that showed the links between the persecution involved in the witches of Salem and the Jews of WWII.

You will now evaluate your work in this task.  You are looking at how well you managed to communicate your ideas to the audience and how effective the work was in provoking a response from your audience.

Evaluation of your work
Answer each question as fully as possible..... read the introduction carefully so that you know what is being asked for!

You are going to evaluate your work (and that of others) to show that you understand how and why drama works.
Comment on any or all of the following as appropriate.

  • The use of the stage (use the correct terminology eg downstage right - DSR, or Centre stage CS etc)You may comment on whether any masking took place so that someone couldn't be seen or heard properly and you can state whether you felt people were too crowded together etc.
  • Characterisations... were they believable? How? Why? Comment on body language, attitude, facial expression, vocal expression etc.
  • Comment on whether you thought the plot (storyline) was believable. How? why?
  • Use of techniques and how well they worked - freeze, direct address, flashback, narration, split stage etc
Interpreting the script

These questions focus on your work interpreting the script and how you moved from 'page to stage'.

Make sure that you answer the questions fully with details about choices and how they worked in performance.

Include details of what others said about your work... audience feedback lets you know how it worked for them and whether what you planned had the effect that you wanted.
