Students build skills in independent research in order to succeed in these topical quizzes.

The answers can all be culled from the list of websites in the teachers' notes.

A great teaching pattern is to set a quiz once at the start of the lesson (pre-quiz), then allow time for research in teams, then set the same quiz again at the end. Award prizes based only on team performance in the second quiz. This way, the students can see they are being rewarded for research and for teamwork, not for what they happened to know in the first place.

The quiz was designed as a fun way to improve awareness of Nepal as part of our International School Work. The students really liked it as a follow up to the Assemblies during the week. It worked really well as a team quiz and as a group research activity in form time. Have a go it is fun and educational!
